I hemmed and hawwed over planting lettuce and am afraid it is too late now..

What do you think? Can I still do it? And I will probably go with warm weather varieties. I read to plant on the side of the house that gets morning sun, so they are shaded in the afternoon... this will work for me!

I know it's way too late to plant lettuce in my garden.

No it's not too late, unless it makes a difference on the sun and heat where you live. In Canada where I live planting season is just starting. I just planted mine a few days ago. Last year my lettuce didn't come up and I planted it in June and had nice lettuce for my salad bowl. Go ahead and try it, you have nothing to lose.

I am going to get some lettuce seeds Thursday when I go to town.. hopefully walmart will still have some. I was putting it off because I didn't have my garden tilled yet, but there is a guy coming Friday.. so I can get stuff in this weekend. I am so happy!!!

Bother.. I forgot to ask.. can anyone recommend a warm weather variety? It should start getting warm here very soon.. It needs full sun, or I could put it in the shade to keep it cool.. suggestions please? Am thinking of nixing this till later in the year maybe.. why
