I hemmed and hawwed over planting lettuce and am afraid it is too late now..

What do you think? Can I still do it? And I will probably go with warm weather varieties. I read to plant on the side of the house that gets morning sun, so they are shaded in the afternoon... this will work for me!

No it's not too late, unless it makes a difference on the sun and heat where you live. In Canada where I live planting season is just starting. I just planted mine a few days ago. Last year my lettuce didn't come up and I planted it in June and had nice lettuce for my salad bowl. Go ahead and try it, you have nothing to lose.

I am going to get some lettuce seeds Thursday when I go to town.. hopefully walmart will still have some. I was putting it off because I didn't have my garden tilled yet, but there is a guy coming Friday.. so I can get stuff in this weekend. I am so happy!!!

Bother.. I forgot to ask.. can anyone recommend a warm weather variety? It should start getting warm here very soon.. It needs full sun, or I could put it in the shade to keep it cool.. suggestions please? Am thinking of nixing this till later in the year maybe..
