melcon6 melcon6 WildRedRidingHood Dream Gardener Registered: 09/13/02 Posts: 4661 Loc: Coastal Maine	These shots are not great because of the distance and through the window and it was raining out. I love seeing these birds, they are fascinating to watch hammering the ground in search of ants. Eat them all , I say!! Northern flicker. _________________________

Thornius Thornius The Bird Man Dream Gardener Registered: 05/24/05 Posts: 3978 Loc: Nashville, TN	Yes, that is a Northern Flicker, Yellow-Shafted species. The lack of any Malars (Moustache) shows that this is a female. I have NEVER photographed a Flicker before although I have seen hundreds. _________________________ Why a Duck?
