This female squirrel has been hanging around lately, and was overjoyed to find the sunflower seeds I put out on the deck yesterday.
My question is... is she nursing, or pregnant? I've never seen anything like this -at first I thought she was sick and missing fur, til she stood up for a clear view!

No she's just shedding some extra winter fur. Sure is a big squirrel though, very nice pic.

Well she may be shedding, but her mammory glands are very very large!!! Can't really see it well in this picture, but take my word! You CAN see where they are in the picture.
