Does anyone know if I can divide my hosta now? I promised some girls that I'd give them some plants for their eco garage sale, and I didn't feel like starting seeds. I'm going to dig out some lily of the valley pips and maybe some of other plants (dahlia and calla)

Helping the world one seed at a time

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee

yes Kenny - as a matter of fact now is a much better time to divide hostas, than in the heat of summer when they will wilt terribly. I've done it many times at this time of year - assuming yours have sprouted already?

My dad has lined 3 entire sides of his backyard with pieces I've given him - that's a lot of area!

Good luck!
