I found the first sign of growth in the Jiffy pellets in which I planted tomato seeds.I planted the seeds about 5 or 6 days ago & the packet said that they would sprout in about two weeks.Hope they grow big & strong.

5-6 days is normal for tomato seeds. Give them plenty of light and they will do fine. If using artifical light keep it withing 1-2 inches of the top of the plants if possible. But you can use a sunny window and turn them regularly to keep them straight. After you get the second set of true leaves you may want to transplant. If leggy bury them just below the 1st set of true leaves. Also you may want to give them a foliar spray after a few weeks. I use a fish seaweed spray but the blue stuff works ok. Jay

I use a combo of sunlight/artificial light. It's working pretty well for my other seedlings that I'm growing.I also give them warm water(70-80degrees).They germinate pretty quick that way.Try it!

Depends on the variety of tomatoe. I plant Tiny tim which get only 12 inches high, then I've planted 'Beefsteak' and they were enormous.

~~Tam~ You can bury all your troubles by digging in the dirt.
