I was cleaning my dining room today and found these in a shopping bag down between my hutch and buffet. LOL I got them last Fall at K-Mart.. they were on clearance for $.75 each.

And I got this the other day at Wal-Mart for Courtney. She thought it looked cute.. and it was only $.97. Sorry for the blurry picture. Have any of you ever had this before??

the lucky clover should actually be oxalis. a very nice, very easy, very forgiving plant to grow. it might die back, but will usually come back after a short dormant period.

they are sold as lucky clover, shamrock, and others, but usually are a variety of oxalis. you can ask dodge about them, she has several varieties. i only have 2.

It's okay, I'm in no rush and it will be a nice surprise for me to get eventually.

Oh so this isn't something she would be able to plant outside?

At our other house I had a beautiful one outside that my DH's aunt left us---but it died--I think because i took it inside but didn't know how to properly care for it.
At this house:
Gee i wish I had of know about the dormant period before now ---I pulled one up out of my front large flower pot---because I thought it was dead---and now I know it was not---I was not aware they went dormant---do all the varieties do this???? perhaps the original one was not dead either???

I always find stuff when I'm cleaning. I looked this morning for almost an hour for keys I'd lost and my house is not really tthat cluttered

some are hardy outside, most can go dormant and will although they don't all. many are native to the mountains of north carolina so do well under snow.

I keep mine indoors most of the year, but it goes out each summer in a shady spot on the porch.

I just planted ours today in the little pot that came with it.. 3 tiny little bulbs. Very cute. I am going to leave it outside all summer.. we are going to transplant it into 3 different containers once it gets bigger.. then I can move them inside this fall.. I am anxious to see it get big.. I didn't know it bloomed. FUN.
