Have you had personal experience with any? I have had a couple people mention some that they were less than thrilled with.. I have only ordered online or from catalogs a couple times.. Am I better off to buy in person?

i recommend bulbs and seed only no matter who you order from.
i have had a lot of bad luck with so called rootings and live plants.
get em fom your local nursery and be sure you look at em before you buy em.
sure they have a guarentee, but who REALLY wants to deal with that and the season you lose while dealing with it?
with the exception of bleeding hearts, i have never had good luck with ordering
root bundles.

I have always had better luck buying plants locally if I can find them. I agree with porter that ordering bulbs have given me great success. The bulbs if you see them cheap online are a good bargin. The places I have ordred from that are as big and good as buying locally from are.,

Michigan bulb sends very small plants. toposh your grandmother propably has good luck because you have a milder winter than us in a colder zone. I have ordered from them when they send free 25 free nothing else to buy coupons.

When I get them I put them in a nursery bed and baby them for a year.

Yeah, I think I have to agree.. I am going to stick with seeds and bulbs with the mail order companies I think. And buy my plants in person.
