dinner tonight was something i've named soup reincarnated

i had made homemade chicken noodle soup because scott was sick. we ate that yesterday. today, we had more soup, and when i looked at it for supper, it just wasn't what i wanted. so i added veggies then cooked the broth down. i layered crushed crackers in the bottom of a pan, sprinkled shredded cheese on that, then layered the soup, crackers and cheese. put it in the oven until the cheese melted on top. matthew loved it. i enjoyed it. and nothing was wasted, we got veggies, and scott got 3 back to back meals of chicken "soup" for what ails him.

Sounds like a great version of pot pie Jiffy. the cheese sounds yummy. I must try that with my leftover soup next time.

It sounds good Jiffy!!

Last night we had Papa Murphy's pizza. Tonight we are having scalloped potatoes and ham. I have to use up the leftover ham from Easter.

Yup, I've got an idea.

Stoke up the grill and throw on some big juicy hamburgers...that's my plan when I get home from town after a visit with the butcher

sounds good--but if I grilled, Rod would do no cooking at all---

so I guess I will have to use the stove.
