I got an offer from Gardeners Choice on this tree. They say it grows from week to week..
Any thoughts or opinions on this tree? I was thinking about getting one but....

You may want to read this article on it and decide for yourself-- there are
positives and negatives. It's an introduced escapee in some areas.
Photo links to its description.

Personally, I'd give it a pass.

greg, i don't know if you remember jillie and/or joanne, but they were pretty active on the old forum. they had one. i dont' know much about them other than they have potential for the wood in developing areas.

I have to admit, though, to being intrigued by the value placed
on its timber by the Japanese. In a Japanese marriage the parents of the bride would,by tradition, would present her with a hope chest made of paulownia
wood as a wedding gift. For example:

I have my own place..but its an apt. so it limits what i can plant there. Right now i'm addicted to bearded iris and daylilies.
I go over and help my parents with our yard there. We try and plant a tree every year for Arbor Day. Autumn Blaze Maple will probably be our 2008 pick.
Stay warm everyone....Spring IS coming~~

For the heck of it, check out the Japanese Cedar cryptomeria japonica, a fast grower and an attractive conifer.
