You may want to read this article on it and decide for yourself-- there are positives and negatives. It's an introduced escapee in some areas. Photo links to its description.

Personally, I'd give it a pass.

I have to admit, though, to being intrigued by the value placed on its timber by the Japanese. In a Japanese marriage the parents of the bride would,by tradition,would present her with a hope chest made of paulownia wood as a wedding gift. For example:

For the heck of it, check out the Japanese Cedar cryptomeria japonica, a fast grower and an attractive conifer.
