Adventure!...and we met Chermoni!

Today Bill took me on an adventure. 
All I knew was...we were going to pick up a part for one of the lawn tractors and then meet Chermoni.
We drove awhile and pulled into a park-like place where Shadow wasn't allowed to get out with us. 
I wasn't paying attention and didn't see the sign...I didn't really know where we were...but we went to a look-out spot...and as soon as I stepped onto it I literally almost passed out. 
Snoqualmie Falls
It was awesome...the picture doesn't do it justice as far as showing how big the falls is.
Unfortunately, I didn't see much of it...Bill took pictures and video...I couldn't look at it.
I have never done that before to that extent...almost passing out. But, as soon as I looked down everything started spinning...  ...and I thought I was gonna hit the deck.

Then we drove over the floating bridge to Seattle...
One side was calm.....
...the other side was way choppy...

We were early...so we walked to...
We walked through some beautiful gardens on the way to what I thought was an old lock factory where there were nice gardens.  
I love these trees!

Helleborus...we have this exact one in Hummingbird House...with big buds on it, ready to bloom.
But, this one is bloomed already because it doesn't get as cold here as Cedar Hill.
I don't know what this is...but I want it!

Like I said...I thought this was just a garden at an old lock factory.....
But, while I was looking at the plants a loud bell rang...and Bill said "Come on! We gotta go!"
 
Turns out there are different kinds of locks...
A lock is a mechanical fastening device which may be used on a door, vehicle, container, restricting access to the area or property enclosed.
A lock is a device for raising and lowering boats between stretches of water of different levels on river and canal waterways.
When we got around the building in the picture I was amazed...I had no idea we were at the 2nd kind of locks!
We stood on a steel bridge and watched as a tug boat went into the lock...
It only took a few minutes for the water level to rise...
(...look at the difference in the water level between the 2 pictures...)

In the background of the last photo you can see the railroad bridge raised so the boats could get through.

Kept trying to get a picture of a big loon...but he kept diving under the water to go fishing just as the camera snapped a picture...
Here is a colorful boat we watched go through the lock...

As we were leaving the locks we ran into Chermoni!
We walked to a restaurant/bar..."The Lock Spot"...
This is the place that the guys on the crab boats on the Discovery channel show "Deadliest Catch" go to after they get back to dry land...and we sat at the table they all sit at.

Can't post anymore pictures til I get the  from Chermoni...on pictures of all of us.
(I don't like to post pics unless they are approved by all first.....)
But...this wasn't all I got to see today.
I got to see the place where Bill grew up....
.....the neighborhood he lived in, the school he went to...it was nice! 
So.......good night.....  ...til I hear back from Cheryl.

I had a wonderful time...and I can't wait til Cheryl can bring the family to Cedar Hill to visit.
...hopefully this summer.

 Nice to see you again Cheryl The kids have gotten soo tall! I'm glad you all got to meet and live so close. that is sooooo cool!
