Hi
I purchase a few different colors of Hydrangeas. I was told by a family member that they are all originally blue & that the color variations only come from what you put in the soil. Well if I plant them in my yard and dont treat them differently will they all end up blue again?

Thanks

neutral pH = green
acid pH = blue
base pH = red

I love the sweet scents wafting in the breeze. I stop to admire the vibrant colors of all living things. And people think me odd. Then ODD I am!!!

nancy, it really all depends on 2 things. the variety of hydrangea (hydrangea macrophylla is the color changer) and the ph balance of your soil. and i promise, they can be ever shade in between the list rugby just put up. also, i've seen them that are multicolored based on what the soil on different sides were!
