So here is my beautiful monster of a Monstera plant. I recently repotted it and created these supports for it.

I just discovered today that most of my aerial roots are dryed out and dying on the ends. Anyone have any idea why this might be? We jsut got a cold spell here in MN so that may be it, though i read that the Monstera can handle temp changes pretty well.
I probably havent been keeping the soil as moist as i should have so that is probably it, but i thought i would get some other opinions.

also- should i cut off the dead root like I would a dead leaf?

teach She is just stressed out over her repottamy. Split Leafs always carry extra air roots for cases just like this. Snip the dried root tips for appearance sake, tell she is going to be ok because you are caring for her. Tell her how goood she looks in her new pot. Plants are a lot smarter than people think. (they're smart enough to keep their mouths shut aren't they??? why )
She'll be fine. Complete recovery from a repottamy of larger plants may take up to a couple months or more. thumbup

Yes cut off the deadened part of the root so the plant won't use up valuable energy trying to make them recover. They won't. My monstera is in the ground outside. It has taken formidable drought and freezing temps well. I do think yours will recover from the dry-off of the aerial roots and do pretty good too.

Oh oh.... your plants don't talk to you, do they? I didn't think so... because you don't believe. You have Pine trees down there, don't you? Tonight when its quiet and still, go sit out yonder. Listen closely and I'm sure you'll hear a Pine tree or two talking quietly in the distance. Surely you've heard of the Whispering Pines... they sang a song about them... good folks, those Pines... When you get over the shock of finding out that gnomes really have conversed with their green friends for millenniums, look straight into those Pine Boughs and say "Howdy.... Wild Willy send his best, as always.
From that day forward you'll know that we all can really talk with those foliar folks.

Sometimes I'm just a little eccentric

I am a gnome and I can talk with plants though... and I've met many, many Ficus that are lots smarter than many people I meet... Go hug a fern and you'll see!
