I am soon going to sleep.
I hope to sleep until 6 am tomorrow.
Then I will get up & get ready to go watch Luke, so his Momma can concentrate on Micah. She "says" Luke screams at her all day.......I will be curious to see just what is going on in that house. I know from when they were here last week, Luke tentatively touched Micah as if he wondered if her were real or not. why I think I shall work on that tomorrow.

If I do not see you guys in the morning, I wish you all a great day & I'll see you tomorrow evening.

Sweet dreams, Carol. I hope you and Luke enjoy yourselves tomorrow. It sounds like Luke is missing having Mom's sole attention when she is there. How old is he?

Good Morning.

Tina, you are exactly right. AND IMO Mom & Dad didn't realize they were giving Luke all the attention & now, since he is so small, he just does not "get it" that he has to share his time with them.
Luke was just 2 on September 13th.

Going to get ready to leave here in a bit...I wish everyone a great day.

Sheri, I bet you'll keep those shrubs pruned back every year now that you get to 'bake in the sun' lol

Poor Luke, it must be hard to understand that he has to share his mom now.

We are getting a bad storm tomorrow, I am so glad that is staying mild. We weren't sure if it would be snow or rain but apparently the rain will win...with extreme winds though they say. Time to watch for Halloween decorations flying in the air lol

Good morning. Happy Thursday.
I have been watching those eastern storms, Sunny. Keep safe.
Luke should settle into the new routines pretty well in a bit. Most 2 year olds are pretty demanding of parental attention whether there is a sibling or not. They are learning so much, so fast at that age.
I really need to sleep a bit longer. Waking at 4:30 most days means 3:30 after the clocks change. Things could get rough after Nov 2nd.

Tina, why do you wake so early? I would be exhausted by 10 AM.

I can't imagine Colt having to deal with a brother or sister. Ginger says one is enough and I'm hoping she sticks to that. Darbi, who was and is the sweetest girl ever, was not happy about having a baby in her house and she was 5 when Colby came along. She ignored him.

I am a farmer at heart, Sheri. Early to bed....etc.
I was about 5 when my little brother was born. I remember having very ambivalent feelings. My two oldest and my two youngest were each 2 years, 9 months apart and it worked out pretty well for us. At that age they had gained a little independence and were helpful and interested.

I like getting up early but not that early. I like the quiet and calm. It's nice to be out in the yard before the rest of the world gets loud.

Mine were like 6 years & 2 weeks apart. THAT was good for me, not so much for them. The oldest thought she was the mom & the youngest one was forever trying to keep up with her sister. The older one was a lot of help though.

I used to be a morning person, now, not so much....

He was fine--all but that he was acting out a bit. (screaming b/c he knew he was supposed to be quiet)

BUT I will say that I do not think they are explaining things to him.
as an example:

He was laying on his Momma's bed threatening to climb in Micah's bassinet. His mom said you know you are not supposed to go in there, so he just lays in the bed with his legs hanging into it. He gets a time out (I got the honors fidget) & when I went back in I ask him if he knew why he went into a time out. he said b/c he screamed. First I explained about how he did what he was told not to, then I explained to him that the reason he could not get into Micah's bed was that he was too big and he would break it, he got such a funny look on his face. Poor kid thought they were just being mean to him & favoring Micah, I am sure.

But he is getting better, well except for the screaming fits.

Yes, I am.
I will go & stay all day tomorrow as well.
Sounds to me as if I will be going 2 and 3 days a week alternating until she goes back to work (if she does go back)on the 17th of November. Then I will still be going to watch BOTH boys for half days. THAT will be fun. I have never had 2 really young ones to watch before...EVER.

Going to bed soon, nite..nite. snooz

You will be very good for Luke these next few weeks, Carol. And maybe you can rock Micah on occasion so mom can get some Luke time too.
Sweet dreams. I am getting ready to go to bed as well.

Micah & Mommy have Thrush, so I do not get to hold Micah.

I already tried to hold him today so she could eat Lunch in peace. But she thought I should not. She called the Drs., & both were willing to call in scripts so she did not have to go to either Dr. today, so at least there was that.

Good morning all, I have plenty of rain to share. I am glad it is mild though...I hate to see the snow coming.

Poor little Luke...I am wondering if Em will realize the importance of having help around? Hopefully it will keep her from moving further.

Oh I think Emily realizes the importance of help. BUT while that is why she had the boys so quickly (in case they move in the future--at one point it was to have been June of 2015) I do not think that will keep her home. In order for Chris to advance in his job, he has to move, & most likely the move will be to Washington DC.

Hope you have a good day with the babies Carol... they are fun when little and I enjoyed those ages too... Carrie's boys (the younger ones) are all about 18 months apart.. Nicoli a little more... none of them were especially jealous of the next one... didn't act up , just accepted the new one to come along as normal... but we all talked up having a new brother /sister so guess that helped... in fact after Nicoli was about 2 , Timothy asked them when now baby was coming...? Carrie told him no more babies and he just looked at her and said good- there was enough now...LOL!
We are to be in the 80's the next couple days... I keep checking the calendar ... yup still October... just afraid when it comes winter will be really nasty...

Timothy is going to go to a Halloween party and wants to be a zombie... so we are researching homemade makeup for it... hopefully we can do it for him... they love The Walking Dead... LOL!

Well I have been pretty lazy today... did make breakfast and clean that up but been sitting ever since so guess I better get busy.... do need to do laundry sometime today....

Have a good day all...

Nana

Because of the thrush, I cannot touch the baby for about a month, Emily says. I feel so bad when I am just sitting there and she is trying to eat AND hold him. BUT oh well, I do not want it either....

We talked up being a big brother and read him books about there being a new baby, but he is still acting out. However, in all fairness, it could just be the "terrible two's" that are colliding with the birth of Micah.

It could be something he would be doing a version of anyway. But I have never had a 2 year old do this.

G'nite everyone sweet Dreams.

I sounded awfully critical up there. So sorry.
I was kind of hard on my kids, maybe. They might have been too restricted to act out much. I love two year olds. They learn so much, so fast. Every day you can see them grow. It is exciting.
Now 3 year olds, not so much. They spend time trying to push your buttons and tend to whine about most things. That huge mental growth slows down and they are trying to find their place in the family. Not so fun. I loved my children but did not always like them when they were three.

Tina, not to worry, you sounded fine. I think he may well be a bit advanced for his age & so while on one hand understands, on the other does not. He did speak of his "pumpkin Decoration" which was 1 of the Halloween decorations that I brought him...I will just be there to guide him when I can..

I was hard on my oldest too. As am example, when she was 2 she was beginning the "terrible twos" and I said to her on one certain day "look You can just stop (whatever it was) b/c I am more stubborn that you ever thought of being." LOL you know that child straightened right up. completely.
Now her little sister, a whole 'nother matter. But then I could not so much as slap her face...It made a big difference in behavior. SMH. I still believe there is a big difference in a spanking and a beating...but oh well, it is a good thing my kids are raised already.

G'nite again...

I agree there is a difference between a spanking and a beating. My kids rarely needed any punishment beyond a hand slap on occasion. And after they got past the age of understanding, it worked to ground them or take away a privilege.
Sweet dreams all.

G 'nite, sleep tight.

Tomorrow I am going to work at my Churches Sausage Supper. It has been going on for many many years. I have finally gotten myself into the "pie room". Another Lady & I cut pies all day & make sure 2 long serving tables are kept full of a variety of pies. If I am up to it, I will see you all tomorrow night. I usually get home about 7 to 7:30 central time.

I hope you have some fun tomorrow, Carol. Sweet dreams.
I cannot believe I haven't posted in here all day. I have been around. It was a laundry kind of day here. I kept trying to make myself cook something also. But nothing sounded good. So laundry and a bit of cleaning happened.
