Tina, you remind me of myself. Years ago I was working at a dairy farm and would pray that when something brushed against me it was a rat instead of the humongous spiders that were there. lol

Cut down a leaning tree yesterday and it took forever to get the stump out of the ground....Fall and Winter prep is wearing me out.

I will be wearing shoes outside for a bit for sure. I really do not mind critters out in the wild where they belong. Whether it is rats, mice or spiders. I don't want them on me however.
Good morning. I wore my shoes while out raking this morning. I am so grateful for the cooler weather.

Good afternoon. I got quite a bit done today. I don't have much left in me today beyond dinner making and baths/showers. But I am happy with what got done.

Hello everyone. We went to the family party, in honor of my dad, after all yesterday, that is why I was MIA. Rod over-did it, but he had a good time. Valarie, Brian & Henry spent the night last night & they just left. I managed not to cry this time, but just barely.

I am glad you are able to spend so much time with your family, Carol. And could get a little fun in there.
I'm thinking of popping Ted into the bath early today. I think we have reached our max temps for the day already. And he will be wearing a sweatshirt for the rest of the day. It is chilly for us.

I hate when the weather yoyo's; it was 70 the other day and it's been in the mid 90's since summer began... I can't wait for mid/high 70's that Autumn generally brings.

I needed to get that sweatshirt off by the time I got home from taking Ted to school, though. That is done as well as the basic shopping. I hadn't shopped or spent since last Wednesday. We have fresh salad makings and fruit in the house along with milk, bread and meat.
This coming weekend is the rodeo up the road. That begins with a big wig BBQ on Thurs and rodeo doings Fri through Sun. Those I can hear parts of from here. I probably won't be going in and out much if at all. I need to go to Home Depot before picking Teddy up again.

Emily is no longer working. I think they think it is safer for her to rest at home instead of being out on the roads before she has the baby. As Rod says, she is carrying one tough baby.

Man am I tired. I am thinking of a nap already.

When is her actual due date, Carol? I agree that the kid is tough. And it is another boy? Or a girl this time?
And now that the dust has settled a bit, was there a lot of damage to her car? I hate rear enders. Because there is not a lot you can do about it most of the time.
I am in for the day. I am going to nap, I think.

Her due date is October 6th. (my maternal grandma's B/D was October 7) BUT her Dr. has said she will let her go into labor any time since the end of August. and with this happening it could be any time now. She is seeing the DR. every Thursday now, so perhaps I will have a new grandchild sooner rather than later prayers

I do not know if it is a girl or a boy. They say they do not know either.

The car is not so bad. My brother thought it was bad because the car is so very short (a chevy volt). It is however a VERY good thing that Luke was not in the back seat. It would have been his second day of being front facing in his car seat. She told her daddy that NO ONE would have settled her down if he had of been in the car...

Chris has been to see someone he says they will NOT be paying a penny for all the expense this has caused. I just thanks god that she and both kids are fine.

You are an efficient person, Tina. Kudos to you.

I have an alarm, his name is Rodney. rolz

My pills are filled for the week and the trash is out to the curb. Coffee is in order now.

I am wondering if Sunny is having trouble getting in to AGH ?? I have not seen her for a few days.... why

If I were efficient, my house would be tidier. I am only keeping the bulk of the world at bay in here.
Ted is at school and I shopped. I bought more than I intended but I am pretty well stocked up. Except for bread. It was on my list (mental) and I walked out without it. (mental). I can pick it up in the next couple of trips though. It was backup, not an absolute need.
Yes, I am wondering how Sunny is doing also.

Went to the doc today for nothing except because last time I went he only gave me a 4th month supply for my thyroid meds. He did it again today and when I asked why he said "no idea. That's what we've been told to do." The same thing is happening with 2 of my sisters who live in different cities and have different doctors. So now instead of going to the doc once a year we have to go 4 times and pay 4 copays. So aggravating.

yep I hear you, Sheri. Since my Heart Attack I have been making regular trips for check-ups. They used to be every 6 months, & now they are 3 to 4 months. he still gives me 6 months scripts, but it does not matter as when he sends a new one to the pharmacy, they "forget" the old script. rolz

Thing is I hear it will only get worse.

I am not happy with the way most healthcare systems are set up. It appears to be more money based than health based.
I am looking forward to my bed tonight. Another half hour and I can send Teddy to bed and go myself.

Good morning. Happy Wednesday. Today I need to buy bread and we should be covered for the weekend. The rodeo up my road will make traveling out uncomfortable this weekend.

I figured, but I worried. why

I had to get Rod settled this morning & then go watch Luke as Emily is basically on bed rest until the baby comes. But I am home now... I stayed until Luke's daddy got home to care for him. Poor Chris, he works 8 hours at work & then another 5 or 6 at home....

I'll be back later after I feed Rodney.

Yay! I was without power most of the day. It got mighty warm in the house. But still cooler than outdoors. It got to about 100* today. Not easy to live with in my old age. Power was out for 8 1/2 hours. If it had been much longer, I would have cranked up the generator just to move the air around.

Good morning. I expect to have electricity all day today. I hope. But it is to be cooler so not as much of a problem. I need to get everything home today that I may need for the weekend because of the rodeo blocking me in. So it will be an interesting day.

It seems it's been a year for power loss for all of us...I will definitely have a generator by next year. We are saving for it now.

Still doing some home repairs this week.

This power outage was planned and we got notice more than a week in advance. They are doing road work around the corner and moving poles. They have warned us several times this summer that we might have an outage without actually having one. Kinda like the boy calling wolf. This time it happened. I am just glad it wasn't a hotter day. And I hope it is done.

We should probably own a generator as well. Not that we will. why
Tina, I hope that it is not hot out during your power outage as well.

And I am home for the day and for the weekend. I will not try to get through tomorrow with all of the livestock trailers and horse trailers coming in. The actual rodeo begins tomorrow afternoon/evening. There is a BBQ tonight.
So we have a house full of good eats and don't need to go out. If I had been more together I would have filled my tank today. But I have over half a tank so we should be good. I can relax.

When funding permits I'm tempted to make a solar generator, just enough to power a small battery bank (easy to add to); the problem though, other than cost, is that during the non-spring/summer months here it's cloudy and rainy constantly, so I doubt it'd fill the battery bank during the winter, though it'd be pretty much for emergencies so they'd have several days to charge.

Have been doing a lot of research on it since I got the solar panels installed last year and found out that the contract doesn't allow me to not sell power to the power company (we have a lease with option to buy), so subverting powering the grid and pushing power straight to a backup isn't feasable for now.

We talked with the company last year and they where planning on doing some battery bank services at a later time, basically what I'm planning only done by them for way more, but at least it'd be tied into the system already on my roof vs me fiddling with solar panels and a bunch of marine batteries in my shed; lol.

I keep collecting info on solar. My problem is knowing that I cannot maintain a battery bank and panels alone. I'd need a maintenance man. And I certainly want my own not tied into the system. I have a small generator that I can roll around to wherever it is most needed and run a couple of appliances. I have a large generator that can run my whole house (and a few others). My large one is actually a better use of fuel.

Well, the deal we got was that we have a 20 year lease, and since there is no market for 20 year old solar panels we can offer to buy them at the end of the lease for pennies on the dollar.

As it's leased all maintenance is done by the company we're leasing from, and they're nation wide, they do all of the solar stuff from home depot out here. You can sign up for more information here and see how my setup is working here (you can see the day "fall started" out here just by looking at my monthly view, lol.

The company we worked with was really professional and explained everything and sat with me nit picking for hours; install was simple and everything works as intended; we called several different places before making the decision to use this particular one (Solar City).
