kissie Thank you all so much. I'm feeling better today although I do have bouts of good and bad days. Yesterday was obviously not one of my better ones. I'm so grateful that there are people in my life that are there for me, no matter how many miles are between us. It really means a lot, especially to someone who has social anxiety and therefore has a hard time making friends. The only time I've ever been able to live somewhat chaotically and just go with the flow was a different Cheryl who used drugs and drank as a way of coping. I'm not that person anymore, and Carol, I think you're right about making sure I have my own time. I haven't run since Sunday and that really is my time that no one can interfere with. I brought all my gear with me today so I can run after work. MIL is making dinner tonight for Aros and the kids so I have no obligation to be home by any certain time. I'm also looking into professional help, which both Aros and I believe would be good for me for a multitude of reasons. Thanks again for listening and being there, words cannot express how I feel right now.

Well, I've got banana bread in the oven, Juniegirl's recipe with oatmeal substituted for the nuts. thumbup All the laundry out on the line..and here I sit for a bit.

oh you'll be sure to let me know how that turns out right???

I bet that is going to be yummy.!!! I may try it..all I will need to do is keep DH away from the bananas on the counter--- grin

I just put fresh hummingbird food out & weeded a bit. also done a load of laundry.
I wish I had a clothes line. I miss mine so much.
When we moved Rod has just never had the interest to put one up for me.
I keep looking for the kind that one can reel back & put away when not in use---he might do that for me.

Well, just pulled it from the oven, sure looks and smells good.

I love my clothes line, just too bad we can't use them in winter..only the people with tall houses can do that..they run the line off their house to the pole in winter..usually through an upstairs bedroom window.

I've seen those reel lines at the hardware store thumbup

Well got word that my sis-in-laws sis-in-law (haha confusing)really her boyfriends sister..is going to visit her DD Sunday, she lives close to my DD and offered me a drive if I'd split gas money. Cheaper and quicker than going by bus, thinking I'm going to take the offer.

MIL is just visiting, she'll be going back home to Milwaukee on Sunday. All this talk of baking makes me want to bake. I bought a muffin mix along with blueberries and poppy seeds to make for myself. I also have too many bananas in the freezer so I was thinking of making some banana bread for Aros and the kids. I need more pirex loaf pans though. Maybe I'll pick one up today. Okay, I gotta get to work. Talk to you later!

Don't know how long that 'mantra' would work grin

I am just worried over being down there and leaving up here. DH has this week off, so I know he can manage for himself..well somewhat lol

Just that, I don't like the city..at all.

sorry that the timing is like it is. I would have to leave meals all set out with written instructions. well at least for his lunches. Then a lot of freezer meals.
The girls still talk about the time one of them was going around the corner by the grocery in town here when I was in the hospital. They saw their dad coming out of the store, he had a frozen pizza. Ding Dongs (premade cakes) & a 12 pack of beer under his arm.--he was caught red handed-- haha
They still laugh about all of the calories & unhealthy stuff he was eating while I was not there to stop him.

Perhaps your DH will have himself a good time as well--- why
However, sad to say there is nothing I can do about the city part--although I do agree with you on that.

Good gosh, DH eats junk. I cook good meals and bake but he eats boxed cakes and packaged cookies steadily..and I stopped picking up junk food..he just buys it on his way to work so it's a no-win situation. I found a can of Pringles in his lunch can the other day lol and wrappers from cakes steadily.

I'm going to cook tomorrow..and freeze it. Gonna be a busy day. Worse part is that there are no 'take outs or restaurants' around here...and he has never grilled before..o.k. now I'm starting to worry. I better cook and freeze lots so I still have a house to come home too..

LOL p[erhaps he'll come home so full of cakes & cookies that he will not feel like eating supper??? and--you neer know--perhaps he can take care of himself better than yo know--it is just that he likes how you do it better...
beside if he is off work & gets really needy he can either call you or just drive up so you can feed him.

Hey,--a good pot of soup or a stew could count for a few days meals. why

ok about teh washer/dryer--do as I did when I went to teh hospital. I typed up how to use the washing machine & dryer on the computer--and taped it in the laundry room so he could go by it each time he had to wash/dry.
if there are any clothes that you do specially do not let him wear/wash them.
I even told Rod what clothes he could NOT dry in the dryer.

he can figure out the Lawn mower--tell him he has to do so.
--and the house well, ask him to clean up after himself
& then jsut do a good fall cleaning when you return.
That would have to be done anyway.
I made lots of lists for DH to use and he did use them.

besides, it will be good for him to realize what all you do for him & the homestead. thumbup

wavy Hi!

I am having such a busy day.

This morning I went to Portland to see the prosthetist. He made adjustments to my swim leg. Then I came home & worked more on packing. Now I am making a Christmas decoupage lamp shade, up to my elbows in white glue. lol

It is almost nap time, though; I can feel it coming on.

Lunch time! Chicken sandwich with sprouts and a strawberry banana coconut milk yogurt. And water, lots of water. If I have the energy I might bake tonight but I'm betting I won't get to it until tomorrow. I'm off tomorrow and Saturday so I'll have plenty of time. I think I want to run the trail loop today. It's really pretty and serene there and I don't go there nearly as often as I should.

Ah, I had thought you were going to wait for a call that things are in motion, then go. I'd freak to be leaving my house the the tender mercies of anyone else for 3 or more weeks yet.
I have been cleaning, sorting, tossing stuff around here. I am tired now so thinking a nap is on the near horizon.

Yup, I'll have it finished tomorrow.

The banana bread was very good, but it wasn't dark. I think maybe they add molasses to the store bought banana breads..I'm going to ask at the bakery next time I can.

about the banana bread--the other recipe I put up was darker---compare the ingredients & see what you think.
You could be right about the molasses though.
Glad to hear that you have the quilt top done--you are a fast worker !!

Didn't get to go running. Got off work a little late and Aros wanted me home in time for dinner (that I can't eat why ) So I'm sitting outside with a book and some ice water, by myself. Got home to find Aros sleeping and to hear that he apparently got into some kind of fight with one of the girls. Tomorrow I'm going for a nice long run and no one is stopping me.

I'm not feeling so well tonight so I am going to make a cup of hot tea and take it to bed. My girl will be here very early tomorrow -- 6 AM -- because I have a 7:30 AM appointment w/ my cardiologist. I'm sure he'll get me all fixed up just fine.

I made good progress on the decoupage lamp shade but I'm not looking forward to opening my Christmas box to find the beads I want to add! lol

Tonight I just needed a creative break so I'm glad I chose this decoupage which I've been meaning to do for a long time. Ultimately, I want to have several seasonal shades for this lamp of Maxi's so he can change them around to suit.

Cheryl did you get the PM I tried to send you? I'm not sure I actually did.

Hi everybody!

I have an early medical appointment, so I'm rolling out of here soon. Just wanted to stop in for a quick good morning!

Tam, I was surprised to read that it is hay cutting time already.... I thought that happened later in the season? why See? I'm no farmer! lol

What does haying season mean for you directly, Tamara? Do you have people to feed? Or do you have to go out and run equipment?
Good morning. I am getting a late start today.

Morning all,
It is early here- sun is up though and I am the only one up in the house- we had a wonderful desert rainstorm last night- 2 inches of rain in a few hours... cooled us all off nicely- but did knock out the internet for a few hours too...
Glad you finally get to go to doc.. sure he will help you get rid of pain Merme...
today is our last day here, kids and little ones swam for 4 hours yesterday- Carrie got sunburned good.. boys aren't to bad the swim shirts I found for them really helped... should have gotten one for her too..LOL!
Well Derek is up so going to go get my shower before the rush is on....

Good morning everyone.

Nana: So glad to hear that your vacation has gone so well. Sorry to hear it is winding down. BUT--I will be anxiously awaiting the pictures that you promised us.

Tamara--I too would be glad to hear the explainatio on haying season.
Are you just saying that the weather is hot & dry??? The farmers are doing a bit of it here already, but I would think for you anyway it is a bit early ??
