Hello! I am an American living in Beijing. With the poor air quality here, I have started a new hobby of houseplants to clean the air inside my apartment. I don't speak Chinese, so I could not get the name of this plant from the merchant. Anybody know?

Also, any ideas on why it's wilting in spots? I have tried not to water too much. Maybe it's the city water quality? The wilting seems localized, so I moved it to get a more even amount of sunlight. Should I spray the leaves? Air is arid here.

Thanks!

Welcome to TGH, Thomas!
It looks like a ficus to me. The partial wilting could be from lack of moisture but they do fine for me here in my Southern California desert. So I cannot be positive. Is there any kind of air conditioning or heating blowing on it? They can use regular watering but not soggy. Turn it every week or two so it gets light as evenly as possible.

Thanks for your replies! The ficus info is very helpful for a novice like me. Could you please help me identify one more plant? This one: http://www.flickr.com/photos/25153056@N08/sets/72157624107801185
